DVS presents the latest member of the Pronto family of disk recorders: Pronto4K

27 Jan 2012

Thanks to its powerful hardware and innovative software, Pronto4K is the ideal system for implementing professional broadcast, post production and presentation projects. Furthermore, its ability to display uncompressed video material allows the best-possible image quality even with large projections.

Pronto4KWith the launch of Pronto4K, DVS presents a further development of its renowned disk recorder product line. The new DVS Pronto4K disk recorder allows compressed or uncompressed material from HD to 4K resolution to be played out as well as compressed or uncompressed SD, HD and 2K material to be captured in real time. With support for a variety of file formats and 3D play-out at up to 2K resolution, the Pronto4K is extremely versatile.

As a flexible disk recorder, Pronto4K is not just the ideal solution for trade shows or presentations – it is also perfect as a play-out device for video walls or LCD screens. Content is played out via one HDMI 1.4a or four HDMI 1.3 interfaces. And stereoscopic material can be played out via one HDMI 1.4a, two HDMI 1.3 or two 3-Gbit/s SDI interfaces which also makes the Pronto4K perfect for the 3D market.

The Pronto4K can be put to an incredible range of uses thanks to freely selectable options which build on the powerful base version to suit customer requirements. The synchronization of multiple Pronto4K disk recorders enables the realization of demanding multi-screen presentations.

As Pronto4K supports uncompressed as well as compressed formats such as MPEG, DVCPRO®, AVC-Intra, XDCAM® and DNxHD®, these can be processed in the timeline without conversion. What's more, the data can be worked upon directly using the DVS disk recorder thanks to its extensive editing and conforming functions. Pronto4K supports the latest interfaces and can be controlled via SOAP or a Web service, for instance. And as open systems, all members of the Pronto family are easy to implement into existing workflows.

Juergen Heger, Senior Product Manager at DVS: "Our Pronto family of disk recorders has long excelled thanks to their robustness, reliability and multi-device mode option for synchronization. In particular, Pronto4K is especially suited to the latest generation of 4K projectors as it can play out uncompressed 4K material."
